leonhard volz

Leonhard Volz is a data manager at the University of Tilburg on the Vidi-project on machine learning-informed theory construction in social science, as part of the INSIGHT lab under the auspices of Caspar van Lissa.

Previously part of the Theory Methods Lab and the AMPL Lab at the University of Amsterdam, and the Educational Psychology Group at the University of Vienna. My research focuses on the development and application of methods for formalizing theories in the social sciences (and psychology in particular), and meta-scientific questions related to their use in research practice.

Currently working on developing and benchmarking causal discovery algorithms for partially automated theory construction and a community database of formalized theories in the social sciences.
